"inspiration is the source of everything..."
In January 1997, I came up with my first business idea.
I wanted to invent something that could be found on any street corner around the world; something simple and universal.
I came up with the idea of the "plastic receipt". A receipt suitable for any ATM, cash register etc, with advertising options on the reverse side. With the help of super-investor Arne Fredly, and some of my friends (band colleagues, actually), the company Admedia AS, was founded.
Shortly after, the now world famous author Jo Nesbø wrote an article about us in Kapital, the leading Norwegian business magazine.
Afte one year of negotiations and spending more than 12 MNOK, and with more than one hundred shareholders, we landed a global licence agreement with the US company NCR Corporation Inc.
We were television evening news headlines (NrK Dagsrevyen) and an amazing adventure was underway....
The company was listed at the Norwegian TDN stock list at a value of 100 MNOK.
The first US patent:
All of this led to three more patents, two more companies, burnout and recovery.
This story has now become a book published in the US (top 50 Amazon.com) and Norway,
as well as the basis for seminars and workshops.
